Mayor Rick Meehan Announces Lifting of Lodging Restrictions

Ocean City, Maryland – During a special meeting of the City Council on Thursday, Mayor Rick Meehan announced by declaration the lifting of short-term rental restrictions. “Following Governor Hogan’s lifting of the Stay-At-Home order, the Town of Ocean City will be lifting lodging restrictions on short-term rentals effective Thursday, May 14 at 5 p.m.,” Mayor Meehan stated. “The Town is currently working with the Hotel Motel Restaurant Association and Chamber of Commerce to ensure we follow stage one of the Maryland Strong Roadmap to Recovery and Back to Business Pledge. We encourage residents and visitors to follow health and safety guidelines, including physical distancing and gathering limits. Personal responsibility and individual comfort levels are incredibly important to exercise during each phase of recovery. Each and every one of us has an obligation to exercise personal responsibility to protect our families, our friends, our co-workers, and neighbors, so as a community we keep Ocean City moving forward.”

I am glad to see our town opening back up for business. Anyone who would like to hide in a hole forever is welcome to, just as anyone who wants to begin to move forward should be able to. I respect those who want to stay home and wear A mask for as long as they want to, I expect the same respect for my decision to move forward with putting this whole mess behind us and getting back to my life.

Since Adolph Hogan has given his Nazi General the go to open up lodging then Adolph Hogan, aka Hitler, should release the rest of the State from his Third Reich control. Since this is not happening then this shows you the "elite" has privileges. Adolph Hogan must have a lot of rentals in OC.

All I can say is good luck Rickie. U will need it and don't raise my taxes to make up for lost revenue.

The least of your worries should be Ricky raising your taxes. Your biggest worry is it a for some godforsaken reason Biden wins your taxes will double

Thank You Mayor Meehan. These armchair politicians are really clueless as to what it takes to run O.C. We are a tourist town not a retirement community. If these people are afraid, go live in a quiet place where you have no neighbors or visitors. I think the Mayor is doing a great job at protecting everyone involved in this C19. Some of you peoplw should volunteer to walk in the shoes of our Mayor for just a day. You wouldn't make it to lunch time. And yes I am a small business owner and a resident. So, Pa, come on down, most of us will be glad to see you.
