A novel coronavirus pandemic has now killed more than 362,000 people worldwide.
Over 5.8 million across the globe have been diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the new respiratory virus, according to data compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. The actual numbers arebelieved to be much higher due to testing shortages, unreported cases and suspicions that some governments are hiding the scope of their nations' outbreaks.
The United States is the world's most-affected country, with more than 1.7 million diagnosed cases and at least 102,323 deaths.

Again with The Most Cases and most affected crap. We should be talking about cases per 100,000 people in each country, which tells a more explanatory story, instead of the hyped up headline grabbers that display numbers without reference. They teach this in high school statistics and geography. Maybe that's part of the problem.
I Agree 100% With 4:41 !
Exactly 4:41. My cousin studied statistics in college and he told me the first thing the professor told them when he walked in the room was "statistics is the art of manipulating the numbers to say what you want them to say". Just like a 40% increase is 400 if your reference is 1000, but only 4 if your reference is 10. If you want 4 (or 400) to sound as bad as possible, you describe it as 40%. The demoncrats and the media (one and the same) throw out 100,000. Out of 327 million people, that is .00030581% if I did my math right. Not very scary at all, is it?
Right 4:41. As far as manipulating statistics you can't manipulate the statistics themselves but you can manipulate the messaging of them.
