Rashida Tlaib urges Federal Reserve to bail out bankrupt Detroit and Puerto Rico

Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib told Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell that he “has the authority” to bail out the governments of Detroit and Puerto Rico.

“My city filing for bankruptcy was devastating to so many retirees, sir. Forty, 50 years they worked for the city of Detroit, saw their pensions completely diminished, gone,” Tlaib said to Powell during a House Financial Services Committee hearing.

“Do you not believe that the governments of Detroit and Puerto Rico also play a vital role that should be preserved even if a financial crisis makes it hard for them to borrow money?” she added.

The people complaining about “loosing” their pensions are the same greedy people who voted for the politicians who promised them exorbitant salaries and pensions.
Government should be run more like a business, get paid what you are worth and if not doing a good job, be fired!!!

Well now.. who elected (and re-elected) the officials that did that, Mzz. Tlaib? Trump? Mr. Powell?

WE have worked hard for 50 years too-- and not to bail out your pension fund or a very corrupt government in Puerto Rico.

Nobody is borrowing money
Nobody

The Fed is PRINTING money (currency)

When was the last time that happened??

I don't think the US can continue to cover these governmental robberies. We are having a lot of trouble borrowing money to cover this Ponzi scheme that is the US government.

Dope obviously has no grasp of economics; bail outs, freebies, trophies for everyone is radical left mantra.

Who is “WE”?

Me and You?

The Fed PRINTS currency out of thin air.
Nobody is borrowing YOUR money (assuming you have some in a bank).

The banks are printing money
Wake up

3:13- no duh. That's where money (currency, really does money need further need explanations?), has come from for over 200 years! We all know that!

Democrat politians created this problem and they should have been more responsible. They created this problem then they are responsible not the US tax payer.

Maryland is getting in the same predicament by the politians stealing from the State Employee Retirement Fund and not paying anything back and there is no interest paid on this theft. This is being done by the Democrats and Republicans

vote Republican and avoid the problem in the first place!
