BALTIMORE —Maryland drivers sometimes have to pay tolls, but some out-of-state drivers just ignore them and get away with it -- and it's no small change.
It happens more than one might think when out-of-state drivers blow through Maryland E-ZPass toll lanes without paying, racking up some $102 million in violations. It's money that would have gone to maintaining Maryland roads, building new bridges and funding highway services, like helping drivers who run out of gas.
"The Maryland Transportation Authority is 100% funded by our toll revenue. We have no tax dollars being utilized to fund our operations, that includes our policing -- our 500-member police force that provides enforcement and safety, traffic management when we have incidents," said John O'Neill, chief operating officer of the MDTA.

Watch Hogan will wave these violations and screw maryland residents again
Hogan what are you doing to collect these tolls? Frosh what are you doing to find these law breakers and collect the tolls plus fines and interest? They have tag readers that gives the tag numbers and State. How do you think they know they are out of State. Hogan and Frosh would rather condemn President Trump than look out for the citizens of Maryland. What is the Legislatures doing to enforce these collections? Hogan, Frosh and the Legislature will be the screaming to raise taxes / gas taxes to recover this money. Totally incompetent Politians. Hogan proves again he is a chameleon Democrat. Not a Republican.
Why? Tag scanners read plates at 75mph.
Then I suggest the Liberals pay people to go after the violators and make a deterrent for future violators.
Suspend LICENSE.
AG Frosh, call your office regarding a matter that actually impacts Maryland.
Good Luck on getting them !!!!!
