DC is putting up the homeless in really nice apartments, and the result is exactly what you would expect

D.C. lawmakers, in all of their wisdom, determined that poor, homeless people should be entitled to better housing than most middle-income earners. It went as well as anyone could have predicted.

Yet here’s a Washington Post headline on the policy: “D.C. housed the homeless in upscale apartments. It hasn’t gone as planned.”

You don’t say.

The sudden inflow of poor D.C. residents into one pricey apartment complex has led to new complaints of “panhandling, marijuana smoke in the halls and feces discovered on a landing in the stairwell,” according to the Post’s story.

It’s not just DC doing this! Welcome to Salisbury, where deadbeats get better housing than working families.

2:47 spot on not to mention health care which a lot of working people around here can't afford.

They should be housed in the high class neighborhoods and Politians neighborhoods just like the illegals should be.

Some of it is about management, definitely.

Jake Day should read this. Housing First DOES NOT WORK!

I believe the waterfront apartments on Fitzwater Street are an example of the same.

@ 4:46 PM. Are you serious about management? Management has to stand around and educate someone not to crap on the stairwell? management? You are stupid.! Which means you are probably liberal leftist

It went exactly as planned. The homeless are not good upstanding responsible citizens. They are homeless because they are losers because they are irresponsible and have burned all their bridges with family and friends. All these clowns who feed them and help them are losers too. They not only want everyone to think they are so wonderful they also think they are paving their own stairway to Heaven. The opposite is true. It is a sin to feed and help them and is the devil's work. You are enabling them. Jesus never enabled anyone to keep on living a destructive sinful lifestyle. While the Bible doesn't say exactly that the Lord helps those who help themselves there are many many references to such. Like those who don't work don't eat.

5:18 PM - It was sarcasm. There is no managing places like these. I feel sorry for the people who do behave and have to put up with those who don't.
