Maryland Fishing Report

As Chesapeake Bay water temperatures continue their downward trend into the 45-degree range, striped bass are becoming sluggish and difficult to entice into feeding. The 2018 striped bass season closes Dec. 15.

Yellow perch have been moving into the tidal rivers of the upper bay and are providing some fun and rewarding fishing from shore, kayaks or small boats.

Chain pickerel fishing always improves with the disappearance of heavy aquatic vegetation during the winter months and the pickerel become more active.
