A Viewer Writes: Proof of what CAN be done!

Here is just another great example how Alaskans are responding after last Friday’s earthquake! The off-ramp at International Airport Road and Minnesota Boulevard in Anchorage was reopened early this morning, complete with new asphalt.

And Nanticoke Road is STILL messed up!

Sh*t if Jake Day was in charge it'd take 8 years to fix that road in Alaska!

That road is closed for a very good reason, but the Nanticokers too dense to get the message.

Proof the bureaucracy runs deep in Maryland.

It would take at least 1 year for the state of Md to get this done--unions

Never gets done in the lower 48, too much money is involved, costs over runs, payoffs, permit fees, councilmen to be bribed, inspectors to pay under the table, union officials to donate to, then there is the actual cost of construction, wages, and materials.

It is the American way!

You Rock Joe! Keep up the good work.

POTUS should invite that road crew to the white house and give them the medal of honor. And then show the rest of the country's state highway administrations how it can be done.

No one from Day's office could handle the cold weather. Taxpayers would have to buy propane heaters at an outrageous price - kick backs so to speak for Day's wimps to even survey the road. Wimps

Nanticoke road is no International Airport road. It's a road to a dead end, for pete's sake. There is no comparison of the level of importance to get that road fixed. Nanticoke road repairs are an inconvenience to a handful of locals, and does not affect international travelers. Get over yourselves people.

It is apparent those who commented did not read the full article. which states

"The DOT's work, though, isn't done. The repairs completed since the Nov. 30 earthquake, in unfavorable winter conditions, are temporary solutions to
avoid transit complications, Crews will redo the majority of their work in the summer to ensure long-term sustainability"

Doesn't matter. They got the road open quick! Nanticoke Rd should have been opened months ago. While an inconvenience to some, it is hurting some businesses.

Unions ???

Maybe those losers will appreciate it more when the repairs have been completed.

It's called job security. City, county and state workers around here just do not hurt themselves when it comes to work. I have talked to a supervisor who worked for the city of Salisbury about why a certain project was taking so long and he himself laughed and said that city employees do not no where near work as hard as they should. And I am sure it is the same with county and state. They are going to take their sweet time fixing that road. Count on it.
