Newly ascendant Democrats are promising congressional action on gun control amid a rash of mass shootings, including a late-night assault at a California bar that killed 12 people.
Measures including expanded background checks and a ban on assault-style weapons are likely to reach the House floor when Democrats retake control after eight years of Republican rule.
"The American people deserve real action to end the daily epidemic of gun violence that is stealing the lives of our children on campuses, in places of worship and on our streets," said Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democrat leader who is running for a second stint as House speaker.
Pelosi vowed to push for a range of actions to stem gun violence, including restrictions on high-capacity magazines and a measure allowing temporary removal of guns from people deemed an imminent risk to themselves or others.

It would be good if we had gun control. Take monies that will be spent on illegals and issue each law abiding citizen a big iron on their hip. We will do the controlling too.

Secondly, I am not sure if you know how the govt works, but all appropriations, such as funding bills and uh oh the raise or lowering of taxes comes from the house, and they control that!!!! They will and have said they will raise taxes on us... They can raise taxes on all gun sales or anything dealing with guns, they can not funds bills the senate proposes, as such holding it hostage to their demands... DO this or that or we won't fund your bill... The stuff everyone wanted and tried to get the rebubs to do while they had the house, but were spineless back under Obama bin laden...

A psycho kills people and the innocent law abiding citizens are made to suffer, and this is what these losers call "justice." I call it pathetic indeed. Blind to what freedom means, these clowns are poised to gain control any way possible so that they can fulfill their dreams of having an over-sized government that dictates complete control over its citizens. Sounds an awful lot like what you see in communist countries.
So far the last few killers got their guns legally and several months to years before going "Postal". Where the fault lies is in the Law Enforcement community.
Several of these nuts showed signs of Physio behavior, and cops or sheriffs were called on them, guess what, they did nothing!
So where is another stupid gun law going to help on this?
We need no nonsense policing, and free mental health for disturbed individuals.
There are already over 20,000 gun laws on the books across this country, they just need to be enforced and used.

6:07 is right, look how the old States Attorney got a plea deal to drop his gun charges and just got DUI and no prison time!
I agree. Feel we need gun control only on high powered automatic rifles. Don't need that much power to kill a deer. Disagree with taking guns away from citizens - that is so Government has total control.
