I believe Don was supposed to play at Salisbury State Teachers college around 1972 but didn't seem the venue was too large and walked off? Perhaps some other local readers can chime in.
Actually, he was booked at SSC before "American Pie" hit #1 on the charts. I am sure that he could have cancelled and played a much larger venue than Holloway Hall, but he did not. He showed up and played and it was great!
