An author of a study that examined the effects of the Common Core State Standards on school choice says the Obama-era K-12 school reform is the “worst large-scale educational failure in 40 years.”
Ted Rebarber of AccountabilityWorks, co-author with Cato Institute’s Neal McCluskey of the Pioneer Institute study, discussed at a Heritage Foundation event last week how Common Core has not only damaged public-school education, but also has presented obstacles to real school choice.
Rebarber observed the danger when politicians succumb to the allure of standards-based education reforms.

Common to the core math is for dumbing down students.
Not even reaching for a reasonable standard of excellence, Common Core strives for mediocrity for all, but doesn't even reach that.
Common Core is a scheme to buy text books and testing from some very well connected companies for kick backs in return.
3:48, you have missed the REAL reason behind Agenda 21/Common Core...it's ALL from the U.N. and the true goal was to Dumb Down an already Dumbed Down citizenry...The goal has been accomplished and as long as the parents Don't fight back; this will continue. of course it's a failure. obama's not done a positive thing in his entire life. all c,c. is was a way to make failing students appear as though they are doing better-lowering the standards in plain English-so obama could say under him students did better. he did the same with violent students allowing them to stay in the schools by making it nearly impossible to suspend, expel or having them arrested. then he could say school problems went down. democrat voters are all liars and most are brain dead wastes of air so fall for obama's hustles. the only thing worse then the grotesque ghetto trash liar obama are the scum who still support him and the democrat party. democrats are horrid people none worthy to even be in the presence of the good people of the GOP.
