Baltimore tagged the psychological level of 100 homicides for the year with the fatal stabbing of a 74-year-old man and the deadly shooting of a 16-year boy in West Baltimore Tuesday, “marking the second-fastest pace of killings in the city in a decade,” said The Baltimore Sun.
While homicides in Baltimore tend to be a seasonal phenomenon, the wave of killings climbed above trend in Aprill following a period of warmer temperatures. In all of 1Q, homicides were below the average, due to frigid arctic conditions that blasted the Northeastern United States.
In 2017, the city saw its 100th homicide on April 24. As The Baltimore Sun notes, the city had not experienced 100 murders this early in the killing season since 2007, when it occurred on May 7. The total number of killings this year remains somewhat below this time last year, which, by the way, was the deadliest year ever to be recorded in the city’s history, on a per capita basis, with 342 murders. In 2015/2016, which saw the second- and third-most homicides per capita in city history, there were not 100 murders until the end of May. The Baltimore Sun added that “in all the other intervening years since 2007, the city did not hit 100 homicides until June or July.”

Sanctuary Cities are the best Yo
Gov Hogan how come you restrict law abiding citizens from carrying legal weapons but you, Legislature and the Judicial system allows this murdering crooks carry and kill. Why are you not letting law abiding citizens have the same right?
There is nothing more to say about this. The black community needs to step up and fix their problem.
I just had to look it up:
In a major American city - there has been more American casualties in less than five months than there has been in the entire country of Afghanistan in the past FIVE YEARS!
If Afghanistan is considered one of the most dangerous countries in the world due to the WAR, then what in the hell do you call what is going on in Baltimore?!
There is a full-out war going on in the streets of Baltimore.
Think of this: Afghanistan's war is a half-a-world away.
Baltimore's war is less than two hours up the street.
Think about that.
And this is why I vote Republican. Keep voting in Democrats and watch the numbers rise.
How's that Justice Reinvestment Act working out for ya, Larry?
I have a prediction.
Without any doubt, Trump is certainly ego-driven. That is not a bad thing.
His over-inflated ego drives him to want to go down in history as one of our best Presidents. He has shown that by going after some of the toughest problems past administrations have had - and solved them.
When the dust settles around his 2nd or third year in office, I believe he is going to tackle the "race problem" in the inner cities of the country.
I also believe that somehow, someway, he's going to make it better. Better for everybody.
If he can bring North and South Korea together, he can easily bring together a city in America.
I firmly believe that.
I watch ch.45 the fox affiliate in Balt. each morning just before the top of the hour. That's when they do the nightly body count report.
8:20pm, No, all they do is step forward and hold their hand out.
I thought it was whites killing them off. I thought they said, Black lives matter. Blacks killing blacks every single day and black lives matter. They never speak out about such as this. Never. Goes against their agenda, I guess. They are pumping them out in the maternity ward as fast as they shoot them down. Never ever accept their own responsibilities. I want to hear them explain this. But they never will own up to their ignorance.
