Just In From.....US National Weather Service Wakefield VA

Confidence is increasing that an offshore low will bring accumulating snow to eastern VA, northeast NC and the lower MD Eastern Shore late Wednesday into Thursday morning. Snow may mix with or change to rain for a time from VA Beach southward into coastal northeast NC, but no ice is expected. Snow accumulations at this time are expected to be 2-4" along the coast with locally higher amounts. Be sure to check back with us on Tuesday for the latest forecast information.

Publishers Notes: While some nay sayers have been coming on here challenging me, saying I am not a meteorologist and that NO OTHER news sources have provided what we have been claiming, (earlier today) don't you people now feel pretty bad about challenging me when the evidence keeps growing we are more right then wrong. It's even sadder that the so called professionals haven't caught up to what may be coming. Joe said it was going to be like this, LOL.

Whether you agree with the forecaster not, take the warning to heart and prepare. The worst thing that an happen is that you have extra milk, bread, & toilet paper.

40-50 years ago it was true that you needed to stock up on essential items. Now, walmart will be open and stocked with whatever you need within 24 hours after a storm. No need to panic shop. 4" of snow isn't going to cripple the eastern shore.

Looks like a tornado went thru Walmart food area.

If it comes up the coast; you can bet the peninsula will be getting snow if it remains this cold; watch the maps from "noaa" and see the movement;

You can NEVER TELL what the coastal lows are going to do. It's all about the track of the storm. This one is supposed to be almost hurricane strength by Cape Cod, and there is record cold arctic air involved as well.

You won't know for sure till maybe the day before.. these stories are put up to give SBYNEWS readers a chance to prepare for the worst.

A public service.

This could turn out to be mild, or it could become a blizzard.

You will be ready though, right? :-)

Thankful I am inside for work and have a home. I think the science of weather is neat but other than it gets cold at winter and hot in summer I wouldn't guess. So when all else fails stay in bed with a blanket and give thanks to those who work through all this mess
Cheers

I just need some mixers...

Really? How many of you people were caught sans TP in the last storm?
If so, how did you manage?

I don't understand it either but that seems to be what flies off the shelves 1st

Are they talking the day after tomorrow or a week from Wednesday?

6:26 PM I disagree with your comment that they will be restocked the next day. When natural disasters hit, it can take up to a week before this walmart gets back on the delivery route. Half the time, even now, the shelves are not properly stocked.

Accuweather is predicting 3-6" for Salisbury and 4-8" for Sussex.

Funny how ALL of the local media is now on board with what I posted a day earlier.

Considering this is going to hit, for those with children I would make preparations for them being home both Thursday and Friday - as for the necessities, the eggs and milk/ bread thing makes no sense to me - just ask the folks over in ocean pines who lost power (over 6k) - no power = no perishables ; take it from a yankee that while you do buy tp, you stock up on items that are non perishable in the case that you loose power. As for Joe’s comments, go figure that the other local media sources follow him - only place I rely on is joe and Fox News....

Perishable? It's cold outside...natural refrigeration.
