Sunday NFL slips again as NFL Ratings Continue to Crater

There’s no real nice way of saying this, but people just don’t seem to care about watching the NFL anymore. On a day that saw a Vice President leave his seat in protest, the ratings for Sunday Night Football once again fell below the number for the previous week.

NBC’s Sunday Night Football earned 10.6/18 in metered market results, that fall constitutes a 3% drop from last week’s numbers. That’s especially bad considering that last week featured a good-but-not-great Seahawks team, and an Andrew Luck-less Indianapolis Colts team, that seemed to be missing 38 starters.

By comparison, last Sunday night’s match-up between an undefeated Chiefs team, and an exciting Texans team playing in a large market, should have done significantly better than the Seahawks-Colts. Such a dynamic might suggest an even more scary trend than the NFL wants to admit.

The NFL Players are actors in an entertainment industry of Billions of US Dollars.
They should have known better than to draw attention to themselves, as opposed to the character each one plays on the field.
The game is very entertaining when the players demonstrate incredible talents on the field of play.
However, the viewers have reacted negatively when the players drew attention to themselves "as regular people".
Therein lies the problem for viewers.
The players have always been characters until now, and they are regular people like the rest of us in their "regular people" personnae.

Actors should not draw attention to themselves.
Doing so negates the specialness of their characters (on the field).
The players ruined the entertainment value of the NFL.

Shame.

Roger Goddell brought this on himself and the NFL. He could’ve come down early and said honoring the flag is part of playing in this league and if you disrespect it you don’t play in that game. He’s gutless and gets paid 30plus million a year

Great News. Done supporting these "Oppressed Millionaires". You wanna kneel, thats fine. Do that in front of the White House on your day off. On Sundays you are paid to work/ play football. If you dont like it, quit. There are plenty young and humble players waiting for their chance. Or you can move to Canada or England and salute to the God Save the Queen. What? Oh thats right, couldnt make money there, I see.

Goodell's gotta go. He could've cut this nonsense off at the knee(heh, heh) last year and didn't. His coddling of the millionaires has brought us to this point. Pete Rozelle weeps!

Goodell and the owners meet next week (scheduled meeting) and this continued decline in rating will be discussed since its hitting them in the pocket book! A 2 year trend IS a business problem and must be addressed.

I hope the 32 dopes don't figure it out and it continues!
