Incident: Possession with intent to distribute Heroin
Date of Incident: September 7, 2017
Location: 7000 Block of Gumboro Road Pittsville, MD
Suspects:
Darren James Tingle, 32 years old, Pittsville, MD
Christopher Mark Stophel, 30 years old, Pittsville, MD
Narrative:  Over the course of the last several weeks, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team has been conducting an investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics from a home in the 7000 block of Gumboro Road, Pittsville, MD. Through the investigation, Darren Tingle was developed as a suspect.
On September 7th, 2017, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team (SERT) executed a search and seizure warrant at the residence. A search of the residence revealed an amount of heroin which was indicative of street level sales, a scale, numerous bags, and several cell phones. All of the items were seized. As a result, Darren Tingle of Pittsville was arrested and released to WCDC on possession with intent to distribute narcotics in a School Zone. Pittsville Elementary School is located approximately six hundred feet from the residence.
Also located in the residence were numerous syringes and other related heroin paraphernalia. Christopher Stophel was arrested and released to WCDC for possession of heroin and possession of controlled paraphernalia.
The primary mission of the Community Action Team (CAT) is to assist the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID). The Community Action Team is also tasked with handling nuisance issues within Wicomico County, which includes the investigation of street level sales and possession of controlled dangerous substances.
Charges:
Possession of CDS with the intent to distribute: narcotic (Heroin)
Possession of CDS with the intent to distribute in a School Zone
Possession of Heroin
Possession of controlled paraphernalia

Judiciary Case search shows Tingle was released on $5,000 bond only!! For dealing heroin in a school zone!!?? Insane!

These 2 are killing machines. There are so many drug deaths to date this year already that this warrants locking them up and throwing away the key. If they are doing drugs ....put them in a cage and let them go through withdrawl.....if not.....shot them up and then let them see what their product is doing to lives. NO SYMPATHY FOR DEALERS!!!

So official. The WCSO CID working with the CAT TEAM and the SERT team. Give us a break...you are all small town cops working for a small town sheriff. Mike is small man with big britches. Honestly good work for the police. But give us a break with all that fancy talk.
