Moms could soon buy more with WIC benefits

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Moms who get money from the federally funded WIC program could soon be able to buy more with their benefits.

WIC stands for Women, Infants and Children. Right now, it gives low-income mothers government dollars to buy healthy food for their families.

Jennifer Waldrop relied on WIC when she was pregnant.

“WIC is pretty important to me,” she said. “It helps me decide what foods are nutritionally good to eat right now for my sons well being.”

I signed up for this when my first daughter was a baby but I never followed through with it because it was so much trouble taking off work for the appointments and then sitting and waiting because the appointments were never on time. I believe that there should be a delivery of basic cheese, milk, oatmeal, dried beans and orange juice. Now you can get sliced deli cheese (fake) and all kinds of sweetened cereals. Also juice likes Hawaiian punch only have 10% real juice and should not be allowed.

Daddy no where to be seen so mommy can get public assistance with all the free S**t that comes with it! The solution should be simple. Okay, we can allow for one mistake, but we are not paying for the second one. Offer in return sterilization in exchange for benefits. This would show them that benefits should not be free and should come with a price.

2:40 well aren't you Mr. Perfect. Trump wastes more of your money going golfing all the time so take a chill pill

2:40 How much money did Michelle waste when they had to closing down hotels in India to the public to use the 700 + rooms for her entourage?

Yeah, maybe we can get the babies and kids benefiting from WIC to do some child labor.

She should sell that 200 dollar mixer in the background and buy her own stuff.

Really?

President Trump owns a golf course. Omaba flew in a 747 all over the world to play golf for 8 years!

Had no problem finding money for the tattoos on her chest. Sorry, I have trouble drumming up the sympathy.

Oh yeah Mr. up to date, tell me why I should pay for women who who have two, three, four kids when they couldn't pay for food for the first one?? I agree with 2:40. Enough is enough!

She should quit wasting money on tattoos

I'm sure her chest tattoos weren't free either!

She had money for those lovely chest tattoos.

Or quit buying tattoos and pay for her own food maybe?

Anonymous said...

Maybe the tattoos were gifts from admirers.

How much does she spend on cigarettes?

The WIC checks leave more food stamp money for the junk food!

as usual, most don't read the accompanying articles.

The change wouldn’t cost taxpayers any additional money. It would just give women another choice at the store.

“A lot of people don’t have the incomes right now for fruits and vegetables,” Brat added. “Everybody knows you go to the supermarket these days, those are through the roof. So this makes sure you’re getting all the basics through multi-vitamins and supplements built into one package.”

I guess the same reason u paying for heroin addicts to get free methadone & narcan. It's the American way baby and there are hard working families who deserve a little extra help. She may be one of those.
