This Is How It's Done Salisbury

Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

On Wednesday, July 6 at 12:04PM a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputywas dispatched to the area of Public Landing Road near McCabes Corner Road, Snow Hill, for reported dirt bikes riding up and down Public Landing Road.

The Deputy located 2 individuals on unregistered dirt bikes in that area riding on the roadway. The Deputy attempted to stop the vehicles at which time they fled. One of the subjects drove west towards US 113 and refused to stop. The Deputy followed the dirt bike as it turned south on US 113 on the north-bound paved shoulder. The dirt bike then left the roadway and fled into a cornfield. While checking that area Deputies located and impounded the blue 2005 Yamaha 80cc dirt bike the suspect was riding.

The suspect was later located by a Deputy walking near the woods a short distance away on US 113 near Brick Kiln Road. The suspect was identified as Dantwyne Taylor, 33 y/o of Salisbury, Maryland. Mr. Taylor was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on $5,000 cash bond.

$5,000 dollars, an arrest and he will probably have his dirt bike taken away for not registering it with the Government. He shouldn't have run, but this is just stupid. 30 or 40 years ago people would look at someone out riding a dirt bike and say oh he's having fun. Now it involves police chases and massive search efforts. In our "free country" fun either costs a lot of money, or it's illegal.

6:21 Today... people look at someone out riding a dirt bike and say, "Oh, he's having fun!"... ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. What are you to do when they enter your yard, tear it up... while in a city, or neighborhood? Go sit out at Prince Street Elementary, any given night, and observe those idiots. They have zero respect for others properties, the laws of the road or anyone else's safety. Yeah, leave them alone... It works for Salisbury PD and the homeowners who have to deal with it.

It's "fun" for me to drive my car! So I'll just turn in the tags, drop the insurance, and come do burn-outs and "Jim Rockford" turn-arounds on the street you live on! How does that sound to you J.A.??

30-40 years ago, I rode dirt bikes in Salisbury. But it was on the dirt, NOT the street!! These thugs are a menace and a safety hazard! They're breaking the law and they need to be stopped!!

I commend the Worcester County officer for doing his job protecting law abiding citizens!

"YOUR" comment "6:21" sounds like a "damage control" piece typed by someone paid to do so! It reeks of rat excrement!!

@621 This is a 33 year old punk. He is not a child. Get real. Years ago we respected the fact you do not ride off road equipment on public roadways.I have fun on the street with my tagged and insured bike and I have a valid motorcycle endorsment.

Get those disrespectful thugs off the road and off of private property. Thank you law enforcement for doing the job. Now how can we get the court system to punish them?

The dirt bikes that the thugs ride on the highway are almost always stolen.

Roger Street and Kendall Ave. Guarantee that all through the summer around 6pm there will be 3 dirt bikes and a 4 wheeler rolling around there.

Lock them up.

All dirt bikes and ATV's need to be registered in the state of Maryland.

Was this bike stolen?
