A Georgia man allegedly killed his neighbor early Sunday morning after believing his dog was leaving feces in his yard.
Larry Russell Bates, 46, from Auburn, is facing charges of felony murder and animal cruelty for shooting and killing Paul Allen Wilson, 44, and one of Wilson's dogs.
Bates was arrested after the Auburn Police Department received a call about a neighborhood dispute on Crest Pointe Court in Auburn at about 1.16am, Lt Chris Hodge told the Gwinnett Daily Post.
He added that the officers were aware that one of the neighbors had a gun.

There's a prime example that things aren't right in America. When folks KILL over poop - someone has to say WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 counts of battery, 1 count of family violence battery and 2 counts of criminal trespass. Why did he still have a gun? This is why gun laws don't help. The criminals will break the law and continue to be armed.
Sometimes people feel the need to take the law into their own hands when neighbors disrespect them and their property. Dog owners are not a very considerate bunch. The dog owner paid with his life. The homeowner will give up his freedom. One thing leads to another. Dog owners need to respect their neighbors property. My experience is that many do not.
I keep my dogs in a fenced in area, but that doesn't stop other neighbors dogs from coming into my yard and leaving landmines outside of my fenced in area. I love dogs in general, but not some of my neighbors. I believe there are no bad dogs, just bad dog owners. Same goes for cats. I've had my neighbors cat sleep on the hood of my car and the neighbor does nothing about it.
