Thomas Jefferson: Government’s Role is Defense of God-Given Rights

When declaring independence from King George III’s tyrannical rule, Thomas Jefferson wrote that men are born with God-given, “unalienable rights,” and the government’s duty is to protect those rights.

This no-doubt comes as news to Senators Chris Murphy (D-CT), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and the whole Democrat Party, almost every member of which is focused on using the expansive powers of government to chip away at God-given rights rather than protect them.

For example, on August 6, 2013, Breitbart News quoted Murphy saying, “The Second Amendment is not an absolute right, not a God-given right. It has always had conditions upon it like the First Amendment has.”

How far we've strayed from our Founders' ideas and visions for this country. Jefferson is rolling in his grave at what we the people have allowed our country to become due to people who feel it's their business to nose their snouts in everyone else's without a care for the rights they deprive others in the process. The Democrat party is a shambles of that was originally founded on good intentions but as the old adage goes, the path to Hell is paved with good intentions. Unfortunately, too many have ignored this and continued to let our country continue on a course toward Communism which failed other countries. Wake up people, before it's too late.

Jefferson was a king lover.

It was Thomas Payne who secretly wrote the US Constitution whilst Mr. Jefferson reluctantly took credit.

What say you?
