The Tiny Town In Maryland That’s The Blue Crab Capital Of The World

Wisconsin is known for cheese. Georgia is known for peaches. And Maryland? Well, that’s a no-brainer. Maryland has been dubbed the blue crab capital of the US. While there are hundreds of places all over the state where you can order this delectable delicacy, no one does it better than Crisfield. Read on to see why this tiny water town is the blue crab capital of the world.

The town of Crisfield is filled with scenic views and most importantly, fishermen.

The main catches here are oysters and blue crabs. As soon as crab season strikes, fishermen take to the water from morning to night, to collect hundreds of blue crabs.

More like the welfare thug capital.

And what a shame. Supposed to be blue crab capital yet they cost the most right here in MD, something wrong with that picture.

Sometimes you have to accept some bad with the good. Crisfield is also home to hardworking folks who care a lot about their community and enjoy living in one of the most beautiful spots on the Chesapeake Bay.

Crime infested, crooked police department and drugs. Somers Cove has been dragging Crisfield down the drain since they built it. Property value dropped. Businesses closed and or moved out. It has become a safe haven for criminals. The police worry about parking and speeding tickets. Violating rights. The mayor and manager are ass backwards. The whole town is a toilet with too many turds.

Let's just say that it isn't in any way what it used to be.

We won't even go there for the clam bake anymore unless by boat.

At one time Crisfield was the 2nd largest city in Md.

Crisfield is also the dumping ground for the masses of 'undesirables'from every walk of life on Earth. Boasting a bevy of condo units that have NEVER been sold, they now are filled with Section 8 clients who are mostly Spanish and blacks. They are afforded a boat slip and swimming pool that we pay for with tax dollars.
If you read the story of the County budget hearings, you'll find the County has a deficit every year of approx.$450,000 dollars at the 'Great Hoax' golf course. The little league asks the County every year for money for the little guys and gals to play ball. They are given approx. $3000.00 yet the County finds a way to make up a $115,000.00 shortfall so a select few in the County they get their campaign money from can use the course.
Lastly one of the most modern marinas on Chesapeake Bay is surrounded by aging housing projects that were designed for a life expectancy of 20 years which have been exceeded many times over and breed a crime phenomena which engages the Police Dept. full time. The proof of the same was aired publicly by Chief Tabor. The Rube Mayor hardly wants to allow Tabor to buy essential equipment for his officers under the guise of 'No Money' even with all the State and Federal money from grants to do so.
Finally, we've been blessed with Ricky Pollitt. Fruitland didn't want him any longer nor did Wicomico County yet Crisfield welcomed him and his salary is $85,000.00 a year with a vehicle furnished to and from his residence in Allen Md.
SO, When you come to Crisfield be sure your windows are down so you can smell the new Chicken Manure gasification plant (Carvel Hall)as your official Hazardous material waste site welcoming area. It was ok'd despite objections from the residents of Cullen Parkway who have resided there for over 40 years and flanked to the rear by the Little League ball park. This what 'Good ole Boy Politics" breed.
Welcome to Crisfield!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am an employee of the County and cannot identify myself. I really wish I could but I'm near retirement.

12:01. As a 9 year resident of Harbourlight Condos I can assure you that everything you wrote in your first paragraph about the condos ia absolutely untrue! Probably not wise to believe much else you wrote either.

Rick Pollitt. What a winner there. He's one of the ex-officials here Wicomico that made big bank off taxpayers' backs. Crisfield voted for that idiot, they get what they deserve. Sorry but truth hurts.

They're called watermen, not fishermen, but it looks like nobody asked the locals.
