A suspect dressed in black allegedly kicked in a Marine veteran’s door just after 3 a.m. Thursday in Salt Lake City and was shot dead in the living room.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the deceased suspect, 33-year-old Puleaga Danny Tupu, was one of two men who allegedly forced their way into the apartment. Resident and Marine veteran Brian Sant was awake at the time, as he had just arrived home from working the third shift and was sitting in his living room.
Sant fought with the men until his 29-year-old son emerged from a back room and shot both suspects. Tupu died at the scene, and the second suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
KSL reports that the surviving suspect “was shot multiple times.”

I love a story with a happy ending!
Great morning read Joe, really makes my day start off on the right foot!
Another story the liberals will ignore, how a gun saves innocent lives.
AWESOME!!! justice served....
that locked door was for the suspects protection.
I am actually in favor of gun control. Keep the guns away from kids, criminals, and crazies. Leave the rest of us alone.
Puleaga Danny Tupu --------Got to love the name.
It would be informative for the State's Attorney's office to explain in laymen's terms, just what rights the homeowner has in defending family and property. Seriously, there are the old rumors advising drag the subject inside, etc. Castle doctrine that says you have to escape if all possible, leaving the intruder inside "your" resident to steal. You can talk to 3 or 4 LEO's and get 3 or 4 different views. I realize you will have to do what is necessary. Good citizens are under the impression you can unload on a subject. I don't mean info from the Monday morning quarterback on here that brags kill him on sight. I would really like to know, because after all we do reside in the liberal state of Maryland. Thanks
dig a hole and put him in it. don't even bother calling the cops. they will just want to arrest you
