CHICAGO -- A man traveling on United Airlines flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville was forcibly removed when the flight was oversold Sunday night, CBS DFW reports.
According to reports, the Chicago to Louisville flight was oversold and several passengers were chosen at random to be bumped from the flight, including the man and his wife.
Passenger Jayse Anspach, who tweeted video of the incident, said that security pulled the man, who says he’s a doctor, from his chair after he refused to leave the aircraft.
“The doctor needed to work at the hospital the next day, so he refused to ‘volunteer,’ United decided to use force on doctor,” said Anspach.

For heavens sake. This was in Chicago. They needed to free up some seats for illegals.
He shouldnt have acted like a A..Hole and jist gotton off the plane now bc the cop had to drag him off he is in trouble bc of a Bunch of crying lib snowflakes.
That ought to increase United's business! Let's all buy our tickets there!
He paid for that seat. Screw United and screw You!
The beatings will STOP when and only when morale improves!
He bought a bump ticket for a cheaper price then refused to get bumped but got bumped anyway. Kinda funny. I've seen this before but he left on his own accord after holding all of us up for 20 minutes
7:00 PM Are you kidding. He paid for his seat, he showed up on time, he met all his obligations for the purchase of the ticket.
The airlines conduct was outrageous and shameful. He had a right to refuse to get off the plane. They did not have a legitimate reason to bump him.
Typical Snowflake the SO CALLED DR acted like a A..hole if the plane was delayed a hour i bet your A.. would be screaming GET HIM OFF he failed to comply and was screaming like a coward liberal now the cop is in trouble for doing his job ? your the type that is nothing but a Obama blm s..t stirrer who ALWAYS CRY WOLF.
YUP but just like idiot liberals they cant except NO just like they cant except Hillary the clown.....L O S T...)
743 what does that mean ? if he was found in the bathroom fondiling a lib does that make it ok ?
I cant wait to go war with these snowflakes.
8:09 PM I do not believe you and no where is that in any article.
8:51 It happens quite frequently. Why didn't he just get off the plane when asked ?
Couldn't they just offer more money until someone agreed to leave the plane?
Another typical snowflake read the fine print he gad a bump ticket and can be BUMPED HE ESCULATED it by screamung like a little B...H instead of acting like a NORMAL citizen and acting like a SO CALLED DR he would have been offered $1350 as per the FINE PRINT but you IDIOT liberals keep thinking your boy obama is still in office but guess what when you idiits act like crying little b..ches your gonna get slapped like one BERNIE LOST HILLARY LOST T R U M P WON..........
If he is a DR and acting like that on a airplane then i am a rocket scientist ....what type of doctor is he a Pediatric ? bc he sure acted like a 7 yo snowwwwwwwwflakeeee
bc he and others like him feel they are entitled esp the last 8 yrs when the x prez was incharge they ALL JUMP THE GUN before knowing the situation ask Obama he dod it NUMEROUS TIMES causing racial tensions x 8 yrs but the LAST thing the snowflakes want is a civil war bc the first thing they would do is run off ro CANADA like the punk cowards they Are.
It wasn't really 'overbooked'. Everyone had a seat except for the 4 members of UA's standby crew, which is why they removed 4 passengers. Getting bumped is nothing new but it usually is done BEFORE passengers are seated.
UNITED AIRLINES is the ahole, not this guy or any other PAYING customer. You sheep have really, really been dumbed down.
I have to believe that most of these comments are written by one person.
It's part of the ticket when you buy one.
Flying 101 An airline can bump you off a flight for a variety reasons if the flight is over booked, weight issues (too much luggage), etc. They generally ask for volunteers first and sweeten the deal further with vouchers or a free future flight. If they don't get enough volunteers they start bumping from the last person who checked in for the flght. They do actually have the right to bump you, you don't have the right to refuse to get off the plane. Guanteed somewhere on the ticket or your purchase documents is fine print that says they can. I will agree that it is a shame that he didn't follow instructtions and that it resulted in him being forcibly removed.
12:38 you are right about the why and how's. that said United should sweeten the deal until they get the number of seats needed. the airlines get away with all sorts of crap. under their fine print. time for congress to re-visit the airlines fine print! they don't call them cattle cars for no reason!
Why would you support an airline that acted this way? Is it because the man is Chinese? Doubt it would bump Uniteds sales anyway. White trash like you can't afford to fly
Quiet white trash
It was excessive force from a paying passenger to give up a seat to a united employee. I've flown the unfriendly skies with U.S. Air and plan to fly only as a last resort. They treat you like a criminal at the airport, and airline staff treat you like they are doing you a favor and forget it is the customer that pays their bills!
730 - you keep to the roads...make that back roads so snowflakes like YOU don't hit any of US!!! GEEZ!
WHY ARE THE POLICE IN TROUBLE ????
The idiit so called Dr acted like a child and started kicking at the police thats why he was dragged OFF maybe the liberal SNOWFLAKES would rather him hold up the plane for a hour to hold hug sing to him ? Fn Hypocrites.
Did you even see the begining of the video ? the man ...more like child refused to do what the officer said and started KICKING THEM u snowflakes need to relize HILLARY LOST and TRUMP aint taking ur BS anymore.
7:00 PM are you that stupid???? Do you even know why they yanked him off the plane in the first Place??? It was to give 4 seats to stand-by employees who wanted a ride home... these people and including the one ripped off the plane, was a paying customer, last I checked, a paying customer trump a stand-by ticket all the time, every day!!! This man was a doctor who had to get back home to see patients... What the story probably won't tell you is, the airline double booked, which involved the 4 employees mention above... The air line offered money and a hotel room for anyone who wanted to trade, NO ONE DID, and it is their right to, so they asked one more time and upped the offer and still everyone said no, then the pilot or one of the stewards said they would not leave the gate unless 4 people got of to make room for their employees... Still everyone said no, so the stewards said they would have a program randomly pick 4 people to get off the plan again t make way for stand-by employees... I don;t give two shits how stupid you are 7:00PM or any one else for that matter... You don't have to give up your seat for no one, not even the pope if you are a paying customer... We can argue what is right or wrong or ethical or not, but again paying customers trump stand-by every time... and to force this man off the plane for a mistake the airline themselves made, is just wrong... And the fact the security or cops enforced yet again another corporation policy and not LAW, you see brutality being injected...
But I am waiting to hear form the ass cheek sucking cop lovers on this one, on how they can defend POS's like these cops...
They would have sweetened the deal if the IDIOT PASSANGER didnt act like a fool and kick the police.but typical liberal twisting the story AKA OBAMA.
So they bumped four passengers to make room for four employees and when one refused to deplane, they called security. Then one of the security team punched the guy, bloodied his mouth and knocked him out, dragged him out of the plane and now the security goon is suspended for not following SOP. Is that about it?
Maybe next time they will rent a car so the employees can drive the four hours instead of crap like this.
Typical angry violent obama blm snowflake waaaaaaahhhhhhh
Bernie and hillary lost GET OVER IT ..
Regardless of the fine print the airline certainly could have handled this better. This will hurt them even if they were within the rights to act as they did.
If you are referencing the term "snowflake" in this situation then you are probably out of touch with reality. The man is in his seat, waiting for the plane to take off and then is told he must give up his seat? He is an older individual, the woman who is a passenger can be seen in the video saying "look what you did to him" is an older individual, and the people involved with yanking him off the plane are also mature individuals. None of these things has anything to do with a "snowflake." Are we just going to blame all problems on "snowflakes" now? I am in no way shape or form a snowflake and do not agree with the masses who have protested and caused trouble in our country. But this man was knocked unconscious because of a United Airlines issue. For simply saying no I am not giving up the seat that I paid you money to use. For that he was punched and knocked out. All so they could get employees on the plane who would not be serving as help. Now they have a PR nightmare. I hope he has already filed a lawsuit. This is an absolute joke. This is not a political issue.
The man is from Vietnam. He and his wife are both doctors. 4 of his 5 children are doctors. He is an old man and should never have been treated this way. No one should. I had 2 bad experiences with United last year and both occurred in ORD (chicago for you non fliers). I refuse to fly on United ever again. I'll pay more to fly another airline or drive if United is the only option via air.
Looks like North Korea's Leader !!!
One must learn to Follow Orders !!! Then no problems !!!
Fool....they tell you to get off the plane ...you DO IT !!!
Later you calmly take up your grievances in a lawful manner
Esp when police tell you to get off....you Will be getting off......see YA ....don't want to be YA !!!!
If this man was my doctor, I would be removing myself from his practice immediately! No normal mature adult acts that way. If he is incapable of making a rational decision about something as simple as deplaning, I certainly would not want him to have any say about my healthcare.
So let me get this straight. All of you commenting about how he is in the wrong would be completely ok if you were in his position? Say you had to work the next day and if you didn't show up your employer would lose out on plenty of money. You pay for your ticket. Sit in your seat and are awaiting the plane to take off when your are forced to comply to leave the plane through no fault of your own? I am sure you all would be just peachy with it...United's stock is down 4.4% today by the way, that's almost $1,000,000 they have lost in value in just a day since this has come out. So I am willing to bet that there are plenty of people out there who disagree with your belief that this gentleman was in the wrong. This is absolutely the wrong way to handle the situation and they are paying for it dearly right now. I hope he sues their pants off, though it would never make it to court because United would pay him oodles of money to keep it out of the press for an extended period of time because of how bad it makes them look. Sorry but you all are wrong, they handled this situation about as poorly as you can.

Or you could look at it from the viewpoint of him caring so much about his patients he is willing to go to this extent to make it home and take care of them. But no lets go with the guy who got knocked out for sitting in the seat he paid for is the crazy one. Sure.
If United actually does go to court over this, the good doctor does have a history of prescribing drugs in exchange for gay sex.On several occasions his medical license was in jeopardy over misconduct and he has displayed belligerence by resisting arrest on more than one occasion.Don't suggest that prior charges have nothing to do with this incident because a jury will decide.United has not released their video yet so don't make your mind up too soon.Given what I've conveyed he may even opt to not pursue this.
This may seem like a crazy idea to some but way allow airlines to sell more tickets than seats?? They were already paid for once. Greed.
Thank you 12;38....someone with common sense.
It was the wrong way to handle the situation but there would not have been a situation had he JUST GOT OFF THE PLANE. And yea I may have been pissed but I would have been a grown up about it and got off the plane. When there is security telling you to get off the plane you get off. Simple as that. You take it up with the airline afterwards like a MATURE adult. You don't threaten security. You don't taunt them to try and remove you. You get off. United was wrong on all accounts but it would never have happened if the dumb a$$ had just got off the plane. And for all those passengers on the plane yelling about how awful it was ... it must not have been bad enough to offer your seat to the man.
2:38 I agree after watching how he acted when he was asked to leave plane. The media doesn't show this part of the video. The man acted like a 4 year old.
Why does Salisbury University accept more full times students than it has housing for ? Greed.
I am SO glad none of you make policy for anything that affects my life. Even United knows it was wrong and is changing policies so it doesn't happen again. Most of you still try to blame the passengers. I bet most of you have never flown airplanes much less the terrible airline that is United. (Smallsbury puddle jumpers don't count)
You may be nice people? but you don't act very sophisticated.
