DSP Troopers Investigate Threat to School

Middletown- Delaware State Police are investigating a threat that was called into Everett Meredith Middle School this morning.
The incident occurred around 7:39 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017, when a phone call was received at the main office of Everett Meredith Middle School located at 505 S. Broad Street. The male caller stated that there was a bomb in the school and that it would blow if it was not located. Students and staff were evacuated from the school as troopers and K9 units immediately responded and conducted a search. Nothing of a suspicious nature was located and students were allowed to return to the school at approximately 9:40 a.m. to resume normal activities.
This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police at this time. If anyone has any information in reference to this  incident, they are asked to contact Troop 2 Youth Aid Division at 302-834-2620.
