SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team hosted No. 6 Gettysburg College in the first matchup of top-10 ranked teams in Division III men's lacrosse this season and senior captain Brendan Bromwell scored in overtime to give Salisbury a 10-9 win on Saturday afternoon at Sea Gull Stadium.
Salisbury got the game's first two goals with Josh Melton and Corey Gwin being able to beat Gettysburg keeper Tim Brady who had 14 stops in the contest. For the opening strike at 11:45, Nathan Blondino took his defender behind the cage and received a pick fromCarson Kalama that got the defense out of sorts. In the confusion, Blondino found a cutting Melton who put it upstairs from seven yards out. Melton finished his day with one goal and two assists, while Gwin had two goals in the contest.
The scoring in the first half all came in runs and Gettysburg started its first run of the opening quarter at 9:08 before adding a man up tally with three minutes to play to tie the game at 2-2.

For being the top ranked team, they sure are making these games too close for comfort. The players seem slower this year, or is that the strategy?
