State Police Investigate Fatal Shooting In Pocomoke City

(Pocomoke City, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Pocomoke City.
The victim is identified as James Allen, Jr., 26, of Pitts Circle in Pocomoke City.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m. last night, police received a 9-1-1 call from a motorist in the area of Market Street and 4th Street in Pocomoke City.  The caller reported seeing a man stagger across the road and fall in the middle of the street. Officers from the Pocomoke City Police Department were immediately dispatched along with emergency medical service personnel. Upon arrival of EMS, the victim appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police believe the incident occurred in the area of Oxford Street and 4th Street in Pocomoke City, about an eighth of a mile from where the caller observed Allen staggering. Investigators have been interviewing witnesses and residents in the area throughout the night.  Crime scene evidence has been transported to the State Police Forensic Sciences Division crime laboratory for analysis. Further details are few and are preliminary at this time.
Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and will lead the investigation.  Homicide Unit investigators are being assisted by the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation, MSP Criminal Enforcement Division investigators, the Pocomoke City Police Department, the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, and MSP Berlin Barrack personnel. The Worcester County State’s Attorney and members of the Pocomoke Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene to provide assistance. Maryland State Police crime scene technicians from the Forensic Sciences Division processed the scene for evidence.

Crime Solvers of the Lower Eastern Shore at 410-548-1776 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. Callers may remain anonymous.
The investigation is continuing.

Hopefully he had a cell phone on him and they can get clues as to who shot him. Such a shame.

Well, I guess he will not be attending his motor vehicle trial for all the charges he racked up in Pocomoke in the hit-and-run collision he was responsible for on Nov. 30th.

Maybe that is why he was shot.

No such thing as a motor vehicle trial. Criminal or civil trials. And have you ever heard of a "run on sentence"?
