New York Times reporter Yamiche Alcindor told “Meet The Press” host Chuck Todd Sunday that the electoral college is “steeped in the idea of slavery.”
“I think about the history of the electoral college, and at least some of it, even though not all of it, is steeped in the idea of slavery and this idea of the South looking at people that look like me as three-fifths of a person,” she stated.
“I think if we are going to look at the electoral college, we should make sure we think about why it’s in place.”

NYT "reporter" must be a college graduate to have such a succinct grasp of the strategy behind the 3/5 tactic
These people are idiots. They completely misunderstand the "3/5s" compromise. They should read Frederick Douglass's reaction back in the 1800s when he read the Constitution.
However, this is what happens when Progressives, and anyone for that matter, chooses to ignore the lessons of history.
only those who work and pay taxes should be allowed to vote. If you aint doing the lifting then you shouldn't have a vote on how the money is spent!
We have made a complete 360 , back on the race card again , they have run out of excuses.
dear God will it ever end ?
They forget that the dumbocrats fought to KEEP slavery and all of its vestiges until very recently!
The concept of public housing and food stamps and welfare is also steeped in the idea that grew out of slavery that said Black folk cannot take care of themselves. The Democrats have perfected that ideology to continue the mental and economic chains of slavery.
sit down and shut up
8:08am - as long as there is a platform, it will NEVER end!
Remember, Elvis is alive and well at age 81 (soon to be 82 on Jan 8th!)
As if a NYT reporter has a clue about the constitution, or the reasons for the provisions in it. Typical liberal that is anti-constitution and either wants to ignore it, or re-write it (like Obama).
Now, the whites are the slaves ....it is Fact !!!
The White Man is the Minority
and is the one in danger today ........Fact
Whites don't think of themselves as superior. It is other races who have no self-confidence and believe themselves inferior to whites. So, their obvious conclusion is that whites must think of themselves as superior since they see themselves as inferior.
It's just too easy. Work for New York Times? Equivalent to a public declaration that you are a complete idiot!
