Flag Status Alert: United States Flag and Maryland Flag

Flag Status Alert: United States Flag and Maryland Flag are at Half-Staff

This is to advise that Governor Larry Hogan has ordered the U.S. Flag and Maryland State Flag lowered to half-staff effective at sunrise, Thursday, December 29, 2016 and returned to full-staff at sunset, Thursday, December 29, 2016. This is in honor of Sergeant First Class Allan E. Brown, an Army Soldier from Maryland, who died from injuries caused by a suicide bomber attack at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. This action is taken under the Protocol for the United States and Maryland State Flag. Any questions on the above should be directed to the Office of the Secretary of State.
