Md. medical pot process ‘abnormal’ compared to others

Founder and Chief Operating Officer Brett Roper of Medicine Man Technologies, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, called Maryland’s approval process for medical marijuana “very abnormal” from what he’s seen in dealing with clients from 13 other states.

“The application was composed of 117 questions with required word counts and restricted fonts to Times New Roman. I’m not sure it allowed applicants to put their best foot forward,” he said. “Other states wanted to see business plans, job descriptions and wanted to see how growers would cultivate, to know that the users were using a proven process.”

According to its website, as of Dec. 2015, Medicine Man technologies is a consultant for four cultivation clients and four dispensary application clients.

“It was basically a writing exam. If you didn’t have a good attorney then you weren’t well placed,” Roper said.

What do you expect from a national socialist Democratic mafia state! it is run by a bunch of loons who have no idea how capitalism works. Nor how to run productive business. They do know how to collect tax revenues unfairly. they're danergous! and this dragging the fett again!! just like they did with gambling, the cigarette tax, alcohol tax, obamacare exchanges, guns, rain tax, the same deal! lost revenue! Because of stupidity! they have no way how to incentivize the market.because they are a bunch of freakin morons. A Totay incompetent bureaucracy hell bent on dictorial control. The nanny state from hell should get the hell out of the way!! and let it grow!! let it grow baby. That will include tax revenues too. However as usual the criminal activity behind closed door deals that totally eliminates the local entrepreneurship are cheered on in commie Central politburo i.e Annapolis. A money grab for the selected few.

This whole process of legalizing cannabis is bizarre.

In the end, it will be geared toward making lots of money, generating mostly unnecessary regulatory functions and regulatory "officials", bringing in huge tax dollars, and protecting big pharma from appreciable losses.

Yeah I agree with you. Dirty hands trying to get all the money. Next winter we will see it up and running but unfortunately it will be priced out of most budgets. People that need pot for medical issues probably aren't making 200k a year. Those people have a pot dealer. Guarantee Maryland will screw this up.

Of course they will fail .The bussiness model is the usual incomponet communist dribble of entanglements, subterfuge collusion and back-slapping greased Palms backroom deals during Good Ol Boy crab festivals, that maryland is famous for. Of course they will screw it up! the prices will be through the roof and a black market will continue to thrive. meanwhile most of the tax revenues generated. will be gobbled up by the GOB state sponsored companies set up in the back slapping GOB deals. The nanny state. Instead of instilling models similar to Colorado or even California that encourages entrepreneurship and initiative for everyone. maryland places another stangulation on free enterprise. Choosing Instead to continue to empower the few who are rich enough and have enough lawyers to read through the muck and the dribble of unnecesary regulation & bureaucracy. Which intentionally stifles any attempts by working class types to get into this bussiness. Figures maryland would use a totally Marxist communist bussiness model? Say it aint so!!

Typical MD over burdensome guidelines and regulations. Glad I am a FL resident for voting and tax purposes. Still can enjoy the area 5 months a year and not deal with most of the nonsense.
