When are you going to do a story on Republican Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver for fraudulently cancelling the real estate tax sale because he owed nearly $6,000 in taxes on his rentals. The is a slumlord and a fraud. Not only did Wicomico County lose out on the tax sale, but so did all the other municipalities.
Well, they can say all they want about the attendance being up, but the venue really was a flop. The original idea behind the Wicomico Fair was to promote agriculture, honor the farming community, the home arts and crafts, families and 4-H.
Well, when the board gets the arrogant, Mr. "I want to be in charge" out and cut their ties with the Chamber of Commerce; they just might see a huge increase of community participation. But for now they have a deceptive, rude, bully putting his cheesy smile in every photo he can squeeze in to; I been around him at other functions and have heard him run down fair committee members, I have heard how he has bullied a couple female board members, and made it known how much he wish the board would relieve him of his duties because he is tire of the pressure. It is easier to ignore the elephant in the room than get rid of the elephant. Bullying is acceptable.
Then there are the elbow rubbers from the chamber. The ones who have nothing to do since all other events there "WERE" involved in are no longer; I wonder why? This year they snatched the ad solicitation from the Fair committee and took it over, so if you were a past (cheap ad) participant you did not get asked for an ad this year. It's that "forget about the locals and past vendors" mentality - they want big corporate sponsorships. So if you didn't make their list of butt-kissers you didn't get to put your ad in the premium book and support the fair and get business in return. So much for contributing to the LOCAL economy.
Last year I dealt the lady(s) doing the vendors and the lady who did the ads/premium books last year, I sure did appreciate their efforts - they really kept the LOCAL Vendors in mind. Last year was a great success for me because of them; this year the Chamber refused me.
Great job on keeping a vendor who was outright discriminatory toward a child with a disability and outright made it clear that the child (and her mother) were NOT to touch his flowers. When Fair Staff were made aware, instead of asking the vendor to leave, they just ignored the complaint and denied bringing him there. Children with disabilities and natural flaws are people too, and they have feelings. Shame on those who ignored this and did nothing.
So much for a great family affair. Folks free the elephant, put an end to the bullying.
