Roger Ailes hits back on Gretchen Carlson sex-harassment suit

Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes is making it clear he has no intention of avoiding the controversy created by the sexual harassment lawsuit filed Wednesday by former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson.

In a statement issued Wednesday afternoon, Ailes responded: “Gretchen Carlson’s allegations are false. This is a retaliatory suit for the network’s decision not to renew her contract, which was due to the fact that her disappointingly low ratings were dragging down the afternoon lineup. When Fox News did not commence any negotiations to renew her contract, Ms. Carlson became aware that her career with the network was likely over and conveniently began to pursue a lawsuit. Ironically, Fox News provided her with more on-air opportunities over her 11 year tenure than any other employer in the industry, for which she thanked me in her recent book. This defamatory lawsuit is not only offensive, it is wholly without merit and will be defended vigorously.”

WND reported Fox News star Gretchen Carlson, 50, filed a sexual-harassment suit against her now-former boss, saying in the same court filing her former morning co-host Steve Doocy was guilty of the same.

Thank you lord for getting her off the air. She sucks and always has. And anyone that looks at her knows this is BS. she is ugly! Who would want her? And she is stuck in the 50s with that hair. Bitter because her show had no ratings, plain and simple.

I disagree with 11:14 it isn't over and we don't know everything. About the written book thanking this guy at Fox seems to me she might have just been trying to keep her job, the position made a lot of money. But you can't just keep taking that kind of abuse, she was trying to make a bad situation work. How many mentally abused women exist in the work place? Wait for everything to come out in court.

I like Carlson and have no reason to think this is untrue.
I like Doocy also, but he is a little simple. The more I see of him, he is arrogant like Mr. Factor O'Reily.
That old man Ailes fits the profile, but you can't profile.
11:14 just a difference of perception, I think she is gorgeous. lol

Interesting karma here. Roger Ailes has done nothing but try to re-rail Trump since June 2015, and now, he's the center of a great (and expensive) scandal. While I don't like Carlson all that much, no woman should ever be subjected to sexual harassment.

If this was true, why not write about it in the book of her life? Would of made for a more interesting read and how women are still not treated fairly in the workplace.
I call BS, too convenient timing, and she could of reported it to H.R. and filed complaints in the past or lawyered up in the past to stop harassment while still keeping her job, there are ways to do both

This has been going on since 2011 when she first complained about Doocy. Why did it take so long? Makes you wonder. She must have enjoyed the attention. She was not have hated it to much by the show she put on. She definitely loved to show off those thighs and times cleavage. She is mad no contract renewal. CNN will pick her up like they did with Cammerota.
