The Black Lives Matter banner has hung near the entrance of Somerville City Hall since last August after Curtatone met with Black Lives Matter members who were upset at the arrests of protesters after they blocked a major Boston area highway during a Black Lives Matter protest in January, 2015. Those arrested became known as “the Somerville 18.” Most of them avoided jail time, instead receiving sentences of 60 hours of community service.

While I support the police, some of the stuff they are required to enforce and allowed to do is also BS...
1. Seatbelt laws - like helmet laws only protect that particular user - if they wanna die (or kill their kids) - let 'em - we don't want that kind of stupidity breeding!!!
2. Civil forfeiture - they can take your cash - if they suspect it had a nefarious source - without proving it later - want it back - it'll cost as much as what they took!

The cops taking someone's money and property without proof of any crime being commited is wrong. They say they protect the public then they do crap like that.It's no wonder some people want to kill cops. It is not unusual for me to have several thousand dollars on me at any time and if some cop took it I would probably hunt the SOB down myself.
