Riders Prepare For 16th Annual ‘Ride Across Maryland’

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — This weekend, participants in Dick Gelfman’s 16th annual Ride Across Maryland will travel from Columbia to Ocean City to raise money for cancer-related causes.

Ride Across Maryland has raised over $2.5 million over the years.

“It’s our 16th year,” Gelfman says. “I tell people all the time that when we started this. The first year that maybe we’ll raise ten grand and then boom, we raised $150,000 in year number one. From there it’s been a great ride.”

“It’s June 4 and 5. We start at the Mall in Columbia. People come from all over. And then we ride for about two hours and 45 minutes to Ocean City… It’s just a terrific family weekend.”
