Motor Vehicle Collision- Personal Injury

Location: Westbound Rt 50 /Ocean Gateway at Friendship Road, Worcester County, Md.

On 5/7/2016 at approximately 11:10 pm, the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two motorcycles in the area of Westbound Rt 50 / Ocean Gateway at Friendship Road, Worcester County, Maryland.

The preliminary investigation indicated a 1985 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by George Joseph Hipsley Jr, 45 yoa of Salisbury, MD was traveling Westbound Rt 50 Ocean Gateway in the area of Friendship Road when it struck the rear of a 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Robert Lee Hickey Jr, 59 yoa of Salisbury, MD. Hipsley was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for his injuries while Hickey was treated and released on the scene for his injuries. There was an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from both operators, Hickey was arrested for DUI and transported to MSP Berlin where he was charged accordingly and released. Hipsley’s DUI investigation is ongoing with charges to follow at a later date.

Investigation continued.

jesus, it's bad enough we have to watch out for cages on the road, now we have to watch out for other bikes.
