State Police Probe Thefts From Vehicles

Sussex County, DE – Over the past several months; the Delaware State Police has investigated thefts from vehicles at over a dozen locations from Lincoln to Rehoboth.

State Police learned that an undetermined number of suspects entered various vehicles in the Lincoln area stealing items and also rummaging through unsecured vehicles. The suspects stole items ranging from purses to electronic devices, and U.S. currency. In most of these cases the vehicles were parked in the victim’s driveways and were either secured or unsecured. In one incident, a male subject was observed attempting to open a victim’s car doors in the early morning hours on Saturday November 7, 2015 in the Cedar Creek Landing development. No items were removed from the vehicle, but a security camera captured the suspect’s image (photo attached).

The Delaware State Police urge people to utilize the following tips:
Lock your car doors and roll up you windows
