Because They Want You To "Know The Difference"

The difference is they must p[ay the taxi for the ride to the doctor or hospital. They never pay the ambulance. They get billed and never pay it.

The difference is taking away resources from those who need it so people can get a fix!

They should show a DR. Office and a Hospital and explain the same differences. Too many people ABUSE the hospital!

2:43 a lot of people show up to a doctor's office wanting to be seen, when they really should be at the hospital but don't want to go. LOL

Complete abuse by the scumbags in this country. My wife works at ER registration and it happens daily where the lowlifes will call an ambulance for their kid with the headcold to get the free ride to the ER for an aspirin.
The other abuse is when the lowlifes call the ambulance for their free ride to their SCHEDULED dialysis treatment.
Some of these scumbags think it is owed to them!

A BLS ambulance is just a fancy cab.

This is perfect and so much truth to it. If local governments would get the balls and tell fire departments and ambulance companies to start refusing transport to these unneeded ambulance calls.

All of the old people know why they would rather take the ambulance to the ER rather than a cab, no matter how serious their ailment-of-the-day. Its because an ambulance cannot leave the hospital until their patient is admitted to the ER. Therefore, ambulance patients are seen right away, as to not take the ambulance out of service while waiting indefinitely for a patient to be seen by a doctor. If the person is transported by car, they will be triaged and may be in the waiting room for hours before being seen by a doctor. My dad had figured that out, and took the ambulance many times for relatively minor inconveniences to his health. Had insurance and Medicare to pay for it all. He didn't care. He once called for an ambulance because he was constipated, and needed an enema. I'm sure he wasn't the only senior using emergency services that way. The ambulance has its advantages when seeking IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE care on nights, weekends, and holidays; times when the wait at the ER can be the most lengthy. Right, or wrong, it is often why ambulance use is abused.
