He doesn't endorse candidates in a primary, as a Maryland Republican Party official.
However, Joe Cluster, executive director of the Maryland Republican Party tells Maryland's News This Week that there are too many Republican candidates running for president.
Cluster told Maryland's News This Week that 15 candidates in the race, it makes it difficult for the candidates to get on a stage to debate the issues.
He notes that was a problem with last week's CNN debate, where Cluster says the candidates simply attacked each other.

That's why it's called a "primary". The voters will whittle them down to one. We don't need the GOP's help.
Some of the "candidates" aren't running for president. Just pushing an agenda.
It's a circus, and at least 6 of them could go today and not be missed in the least. Santorum, Huckebee, Jindal, Gilmore, There just taking up space.
