Shaped like a tree, the cell tower is designed to fit into the environment, but not everyone in Arnold welcomes its presence on the grounds of Magothy River and Severn River middle schools. At the center of this dispute is a contract the school district signed with Virginia-based Milestone Communications to construct the tower. A citizens' group wants the contract canceled and the tower dismantled.
"Does the state board have the authority ... make the contract between Milestone Communications and the county board null and void? That's the question," said Vanessa Haneberg, of Arnold.
It has become such a contentious issue members of a citizens' group and an attorney for Anne Arundel County Public Schools brought their concerns to the Maryland State Board of Education Tuesday.

they are called stingrays and are used by police, and why the hell do you think they are pop-in up at schools... DUH to track you... and because stingrays trick your phone into thinking it is a real tower, it can collect all of your data, including pictures and text message to others...
oh well, not like any of you care anyway... I mean you don't care about your rights, you don't care about your family or friends, you don't care about your kids and you especially don't care about your own damn self so who cares right???
Tinfoil on sale at Giant this week...just saying.
lol None of what you say is remotely true.
If it's a real cell tower and cellphones are not allowed in school, either take down one or allow the other.
It brings revenue to the school system.
