BALTIMORE (AP) — Rep. Elijah Cummings is calling on Maryland leaders to negotiate lower prices for a heroin overdose antidote to ensure first responders have the drug at hand when they need it.
In a letter to Gov. Larry Hogan, Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford and Attorney General Brian Frosh on Tuesday, Cummings writes that prices for naloxone, a drug used to reverse opioid overdoses, have skyrocketed in recent months and he believes the state is being overcharged. Cummings, a Democrat, writes that the spike coincides with an increase in heroin overdose deaths and he urges them to negotiate lower prices for the drug.

Why doesn't Cummings ask the governor, governor-elect to negotiate lower health care premiums for taxpayers with Blue Cross-Blue Shield?? Seems like he is only concerned about price if it is for the drug users and not the ordinary citizen.
Yo 4:56 pm....Hold on...Obama-Care to the rescue...
I think we should put free heroin dispensaries around, so the drug users can get all they want and not have to commit crimes to afford it.
If they overdose....so what!
Good question 4:56 but the truth is look what we are dealing with. Cummings ONLY appeals to the lowest of the low, the complete dregs of society.
As long as the idiots continue to vote this moron in office this is the best he can come up with. During the Libya hearings he looked and talked like the racist he is. And the blacks continue to vote for him.
Gee, Mr. Cummings, why not just pass a law that dealers have to provide the antidote for free at time of sale? Less paperwork.
6:12 blacks vote based on color. Their morals which they pretend to have go out the window when it comes to voting. They would vote for a criminal as long as they are black. Berry is the perfect example.
narcan is a really cheap drug on the market for a long time. prices are jacked up when they decided to use it in this way.
