24 Awards Given to Deserving Groups and Individuals Throughout Maryland

| Comptroller Franchot presented the 2015 William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award for Wicomico County to Salisbury University President Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach for her commitment to the university and to higher education. |
“All the award recipients share an extraordinary commitment to helping people and making a difference in their communities,” said Comptroller Franchot. “I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people who are improving their communities through education and art programs, assisting the homeless, providing services to seniors and people with disabilities, and supporting their fellow Marylanders who have fallen on hard times. They are truly carrying on Governor Schaefer’s lifelong commitment to helping others.”
The Comptroller created the award in 2012 to honor individuals and organizations in all 24 Maryland jurisdictions who best exemplify Governor and Comptroller Schaefer’s unparalleled legacy of public service. Winners are recognized for improving the community, swiftly solving a problem through effective government intervention, directly aiding the most vulnerable in society or creating a public-private partnership to improve the lives of Marylanders.
The Comptroller presented the awards to each recipient during a special ceremony held in their communities.

No, I think they posted the wrong photo. It looks like one of the beached whales at Assateague or OC.
Another "made-up" award that means absolutely nothing. Much like Salisbury received "America City Award". Think about this; you receive an award that cost "thousands" of dollars to be eligible for. When you pay for the award it's not an award. Its like buying a trophy for your kid when he plays a sport, didn't earn it just received it.
This woman has destroyed the creditability and high educational standards the university used to be proud of. When you graduated form This University you did with pride and their degree was one of the most recognized and respected by companies. Now it is just another piece of paper. She covers up crime on campus. She protects the Lacrosse and Football players and thinks they do no wrong. What a Joke.
Just another BS award. Why is it no one has to earn these things any more - just pay for them and Wham, you're wonderful.
