5 Things You May Not Know About Lincoln, Slavery and Emancipation

September 22 marks the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, in which he declared that as of January 1, 1863, all slaves in states in rebellion against the Union "shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free." To commemorate the occasion, we invite you to consider some surprising facts about Lincoln's views on slavery, and the complex process that led him to issue the document he later called "the central act of my administration, and the greatest event of the 19th century."

Strange how each new study reveals more information that we did not previously know,or at least that the majority of us did not know. This rhetoric will increase dramatically with our current political climate (Confed flag, etc). The stage has been set to introduce all sorts of BRAND NEW information regarding issues that supposedly occurred 170 + years ago. This is not a coincidence that all of this is surfacing when we're at our most vulnerable.Prior to the SC church shooting none of it would have flown, but the Civil War has taken upon it a new life.Don't fall for it.It was what it was and history can not be altered to appease whomever.

Nobody's trying to alter history here, 10:53, except the liberals.

Nothing here is 'brand new'.

This stuff seems 'new' to many people because it IS new to them. It's the true history that has been buried by the left and replaced with distortions and fables that energize a victim mentality.

You will be seeing more of our real history in the coming days. It is time folks discover the truth about how things really were, and begin the journey to real freedom.

"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.."

Simply the details. Most people don't have the depth of study to know and especially to understand the past. Even if they are college grads they did not necessarily study American history in depth but instead spent their time studying that which focused on what they intended for a career. There is nothing to see here.

Most people don't know any more than the media tells them, or they are taught in schools...and most of that is soon forgotten.

The liberal agenda only indoctrinated students in the parts of history useful to them, and omit inconvenient facts. Only those who read multiple independent sources on their own, and who are capable of critical thinking, can see the big picture and cut through the BS.
