The escalating tensions between Russia and NATO mark an "extraordinarily dangerous time" and could intensify further, a leading analyst has said, according to Business Insider.
"We are in an extraordinarily dangerous time right now because both Russia and NATO are starting to exercise substantial military activity in close proximity to each other in Eastern Europe and the Baltics," said Robert Dannenberg, a CIA veteran and analyst for Goldman Sachs' Office of Global Security.
Dannenberg believes that Russia is a top strategic threat to the United States and that there is a high risk that the situation could escalate based on Russia's policies toward Ukraine.
"Many of the channels of rapid military and intelligence communications that were carefully constructed during the Cold War have been dismantled, lamentably, mostly from the U.S. side," he said, according to Business Insider.
A ceasefire in February froze the front lines between separatist and Ukrainian forces, but violence between the two sides has continued. On July 9, a Ukrainian soldier was killed in a shootout.

So what ? Not to worry , we will just get our military of homosexuals , cross-dressers , ladies , to defend this movement, Ha Ha ha.
In a way, I don't blame Putin, I blame Ob'. Putin says Russia is for Russians: Not deviants or muslims. Sounds alright to me. The US was once a proud country governed by AMERICANS.
We spent billions overthrowing the Ukrainian government. Later Obama called the puppet regime elected.
The fact that we did this right on Russia's doorstep is a huge provocation. I don't blame them for taking a more aggressive posture towards us.
I'd think that we'd do the same if Russia overthrew Mexico, but the Russians would probably make that place safer.
Russia is harmless & is in the perfect position to harm themselves, which is by design.Any harshness they invoke upon NATO will reduce the resources that they need for survival.Russia is a lot of things, but stupid is not one of them.
2:18 Russia is harmless? Wake up pal.
