JUST IN: US officials: Massive breach of federal personnel data

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Associated Press has learned that the Obama administration is scrambling to assess the impact of a massive data breach involving the agency that handles security clearances and employee records.

A congressional aide familiar with the situation, who declined to be named because he was not authorized to discuss it, says the Office of Personnel Management and the Interior Department were hacked. A second U.S. official who also declined to be identified said the data breach could potentially affect every federal agency.

Just the hell is this stupid president doing???? IRS, Pentagon, now these other agencies. For all the government spying that is done on a daily basis, can't they keep citizens and employees records private and free from hacking????

This entire Administration is and has been the worse administration this country has ever had. Just exactly is running this country??? Does anyone know?? It doesn't seem to concern obama and company.

This silly story is part of the narrative to demonize China. It can make cheap plastic goods for dumb Americans but it can never be allowed to behave contrary to the interests of US Corporations and Wall Street banks. It cannot be allowed to depeg it's currency from the worthless US Dollar. It cannot continue to sell its U.S. Treasuries (which are worthless). It cannot engage in free trade with Russia (and others) in their own currencies.

The U.S. Military will eventually need to bomb China. It will murder countless Chinese citizens in support of the U.S. Dollar and its monopoly on the creation of credit.

Consider the recent dust-uo over the islands China is creating and militarizing in the South China Sea. Their hostility, and veiled threats.

Now they hack OPM and steal info on the top officials and their security clearance info.

This is a MAJOR escalation. A very aggressive action. A shot across the bow.

How will the Wuss-In-Chief respond?

This just shows the impact affirmative action hiring has in technical fields - especially in the government!

I get to see it regularly - glad I am a contract employee - too bad they don't listen to us though!

This isn't a shot across the bow. This is an example of a modern direct hit.

Maybe others know it by now,but I just found out this morning that cell phones can be remotely charged.A hundred plus years ago Tesla proved that electricity could be wirelessly transmitted. That has now been fine tuned to the point that "if" a certain cell phone deemed a national security issue went dead for some reason it can be remotely charged without the permission of the owner. If anyone questions the concern Big Brother might have with them, waking up to a fully charged cell phone when they know darn well that it was dead when they went to bed and NOT put on charge while they slept is the clincher.Snowden has never spoken of this because this capability came about after he vacated his NSA job.
