Prince releases protest song 'Baltimore'

Prince released his anticipated tribute song "Baltimore" on Saturday, calling for justice and peace in the wake of protests over Freddie Gray's death.

The unrest in Baltimore moved Prince to record a song critical of the killing of young African-American men, a publicist for the artist said last week. The song mentions Michael Brown and Gray, who both died in police-related altercations.

"Does anyone hear us pray?

For Michael Brown or Freddie Gray

Peace is more than the absence of war."

Glorifying criminals.....

In earlier societies, they would have been outcasts at their first offenses - and certainly taken care of permanently after multiple offenses.

Bless their souls for they passed on too early. Use their lives as teaching experiences to prevent others from following their footsteps!

Some lyrics from the hypocritical turd:

WE’RE TIRED OF CRYIN’ & PEOPLE DYIN’

LET’S TAKE ALL THE GUNS AWAY

XCEPT 4 MY BODYGUARDS U KNOW WHAT EYE SAY

Typical. Take guns away from everyone but his own posse of hired thugs. How about you give up yours first?

Irrelevant just like Bruce Spingsteen.

He's an odd dude; much like Michael Jackson. However a talented muscian who has been singing since the 70's. To each their own, I like his music.

He played at the civic center in the 80's.

Sureeeeeeeeee wink.

He was such a talented songwriter, but this is thrown together, stupid garbage, regardless of the idiocy of the subject.

@8:48 Without reading the rest of the lyrics, these strike me as being ironic. Prince is acknowledging his place of privilege and perhaps sticking it to certain members of the black community.

So his bodyguards carried guns, with permits issued from a different state, and Maryland recognized them, yet my permit from Florida is not...

Mosby should have been spending the weekend in the law library and not at a concert.

"State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby was "simply invited by Prince on stage during the concert," her spokeswoman says."

She should have "simply" said no.
Lack of ethics-must be a black thing.

11:04 Come to think of it...you're right. My Utah permit wouldn't allow me to carry for personal protection here in Maryland so how do all these "celebrities" have armed bodyguards here?

If you don't want to be bothered by the police then don't break any laws. It's the simplest solution to the whole problem. Break the law and you will have issues with the police. Do you really think they like putting their lives on the line everyday for someone who can't live amongst the laws that are in place to protect us. They have families too that they want to go home to every night.

Where are all the other stars? Why haven't they come to the rescue and tried to help?

6:19-They hire bodyguards from Maryland security companies. When Fox News was in Baltimore the security (armed) team they hired was from a company out of Fredrick MD.
