NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Dramatic video that shows a white South Carolina police officer shooting a fleeing black man after a traffic stop has led authorities to file a murder charge against the officer amid public outrage over a series of deaths of unarmed black men at the hands of law enforcement agents.
Protests were planned Wednesday in North Charleston, led by a group formed after the fatal shooting of another black man in Ferguson, Missouri.
The video, provided to the dead man's family and lawyer by an unidentified person who shot the footage, shows North Charleston Patrolman Michael Thomas Slager firing eight shots at the back of Walter Lamer Scott as he runs away. The 50-year-old man falls after the eighth shot, fired after a brief pause.
Scott's parents appeared separately on TV shows Wednesday morning, a day after the officer was charged.
Walter Scott Sr. told the NBC "Today Show" that his son may have run because he owed child support and didn't want to go back to jail.
Scott Sr. said that in the video, the officer "looked like he was trying to kill a deer running through the woods."

This man's death is a crying shame, but what is there to protest? The cop has been charged with murder which seems reasonable from watching the video.
I am sure there can only be justice if Al Sharpton gets involved. Please send some money to Reverend Al so he can get to the bottom of this.
This man was shot in the back while running and apparently was known to be unarmed. What was the arrest warrant for?? This whole thing is wrong!

that cop's whole conviction record should be investigated and if I were a lawyer, I'd recommend all his previous cases be thrown out.
He purposely dropped evidence next to that dying man in hopes he could justify the shooting.
I hope when he gets to prison, the homeboys will become his bestest friends.

The only thing wrong here, is the cop shooting him in the back while running away. If he'd brandished a deadly weapon before running, that's one thing but so far no evidence of it.
The race of each is irrelevant. The fact that a cop shot a citizen in the back because of a minior warrant, is all that matters.

Can't pay back child support now can he?
Perp would still be alive if:
A) He'd simply not fought and resisted arrest.
B) The cop hadn't decided to shoot at someone who wasn't an immediate threat to anyone.

310 SO i am sure the cop ran his plate and seen he had a warrant for NON child support payments and one thing led to another.

NO, what we got is a bad pos kop who murdered a man. Race probably did play a role in this, in the kops mind.
If and when you ever get past your hate, just remember that one day when they are done with that 'one race', they will coming for the other races, including yours.
If I, and others, do not speak up against this crap now, who will be left to speak up for me?
