MSP Press Release 4-23-14 (Berlin Barrack)

ANOTHER CITIZEN REPORT OF IMPAIRED DRIVING LEADS TO ARREST OF SAME SUBJECT: On April 21, 2015, the Berlin Barrack arrested 24 year old Justin Michael Sauve for driving while under the influence of drugs, as well as driving on a suspended and revoked driver's license. On April 22, 2015, at approximately 1740 hrs (5:40 pm), another lookout was received by a concerned citizen regarding the negligent driving pattern of the same vehicle Justin Michael Sauve was driving yesterday. Troopers again located the vehicle traveling eastbound along US Route 50 in the area of Seahawk Road, and they once again identified the operator as Sauve. He was arrested for driving on a suspended and revoked license, as well as driving under the influence of drugs. He was transported to a court commissioner where he was ordered to be held at the Worcester County Detention Center on a $5000 bond.

CITIZEN REPORT OF IMPAIRED DRIVING LEADS TO ARREST: On April 21, 2015, at approximately 1647 hrs (4:47 pm), a citizen reported to the Berlin Barrack a vehicle that was swerving from lane to lane traveling along US Route 50. A short time later troopers located the vehicle identifying the driver as 24 year old Justin Michael Sauve. It was determined Sauve's license to drive was suspended and revoked. He also exhibited signs of impairment by CDS (drugs). Probable cause was developed to search the vehicle and several items including trace amounts of suspected heroin and trace amounts of suspected marijuana were located along with several hypodermic needles. Sauve failed standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for driving while impaired, CDS charges, and driving while suspended and revoked. Case # 15-MSP-014081

I don't know if I should congratulate them for their processing speed or yell at them for letting him have his car back!

Thank you MSP for your service and diligence. This idiot could have killed someone.

Glad he got caught. But I doubt a citizen complained. This was merely a cop recognized him and no right to pull him" he may have got his license straight" so they used the we got a call deal to engage him.

thank goodness they got him before he killed an innocent person. drunk/high drivers never seem to kill themselves, just people who get in their way.

There is a guy in Princess Anne who has been caught drinking and driving 10 times. He is currently on work release and drives everyday without a license. It was reported to the State Police but nothing has been done. Someone needs to look into this before he kills somebody.

Hating? Glad he got caught is hating? Its an at a boy. However I'm stating a more than likely scenario for the situation. When police have interacted with a person without a license before, they see them again and go " hey I know that guy. He has no license " and pulls them. That's not a reason to pull officer! You don't know if he got straight. And you can't run him for no reason. So the old some one called or you touched the line and let's not forget the you didn't come to a complete stop story for probable cause. Got news for you officer, I know you. I know 90% of the local cops. I hear the stories. You brag assuming all around you just love you. I'm may enjoy my time with my cop buddies for who they are but what they do and how they do it sickens me.you take joy in using bullshit to lock up people. Yeah they may be bad guys. We all know it. But there is a right way and a wrong way.

It's unlikely someone under the influence, who also possesses a revoked license, would ever have been able to get his license straight in just over 24 hours. If he was arrested on the heroin, then he went before a commissioner who released him, or he bonded out. It's not the police's job to keep him from driving. Plus he was dribing in almost the same place as the first time someone reported him. It is likely that the same shift of officers was working at about the same time a day later. There is nothing to prevent am officer from stopping someone who is known to be revoked from driving without a moving violation anyway. He is just am irresponsible addict who needs a timeout in a small secure room for awhile.

:12:19 you are incorrect. Excellent street level police work done by officers who know the offenders in their area. Positive ID of a driver and running them prior to the stop to verify they are suspended, revoked etc is ABSOLUTLEY a good stop. Time and time again its upheld in court.

I didn't think they were allowed to run tags unless they have already pulled you over.

They can once you've committed a violation. Not for fishing. But they'll tell you anything to justify themselves. Disgusting and blatant disregard of the law you swore to uphold.
