Kochs May Back Five GOP Presidential Candidates

One day after billionaire businessman and Republican mega-donor David Koch lauded Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, his brother Charles Koch said the brothers' network might back several GOP presidential hopefuls.

The Kochs have settled on five candidates they think have a good message and "a good chance of getting elected," Charles Koch told USA Today.

The five are Walker; former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush; and Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and Marco Rubio of Florida.

"What we've told them all is that right now, we're not supporting anyone," Koch told USA Today. "We're telling them that if they want our support, one way to get it is articulating a good message to help Americans get a better understanding and a better appreciation of how certain policies … will benefit them and will benefit all America."

The Kochs would select one over the others only if someone stands out with a message detailing what he would do to benefit America and has a legitimate chance of being elected, Koch said.

"What we expect them to do is to compete on who has a more positive message for America, rather than what's wrong with some other candidate and did he smoke pot when he was 15 or whatever."

Jeb's got "Bush" baggage along with his own RINO leanings!

Cruz is a bit too far to the right and probably couldn't win the general election!

Paul has some left leaning tendencies too - as evidenced by some of his recent statements.

Leaving Walker and Rubio...I would accept either!

Can you imagine how much good even a small portion of all the money they throw at controlling things could do?? Cures for diseases, hunger, housing homeless vets, etc.

Ok, here is a rundown of the political field right now. Nobody trusts Hillary as far as they could through her. Paul isn't likable enough. Say what you want but outright jerks don't get elected. Cruz is a creepy TV evangelistic type...no chance. Rubio is probably the best shot the Republicans have. He could pull it off but there is a lot of time left for him to say something crazy to screw it up. Can we get somebody else who has a vision other than going over how much Obama has messed up the country? We get it...you hate him, but that message is old and he is on his way out anyway so why waste energy on an outgoing president. How refreshing would it be to hear a candidate relay his vision for a bright future instead of quoting Fox News!
