House Speaker John Boehner has money in the bank.
The Ohio Republican raised more than $5.4 million in the first three months of 2015, according to totals shared with Politico ahead of the April 15 filing date.
The re-election committee Friends of John Boehner raised $906,000. Boehner for Speaker, his joint fundraising committee raised $4.28 million; and his leadership PAC, Freedom Project raised $301,000.
Showing his fundraising prowess as a GOP leader, Boehner also transferred $2.6 million to the National Republican Congressional Committee, an aide said.
"Speaker Boehner and our committees are hard at work building a strong foundation to score more Republican victories in 2016 – and we're just getting started," said Kara Hauck, a Boehner spokeswoman.
