Youth ages 8 to 16 with an interest in hunting, shooting sports and wildlife management are invited to participate in free Junior Hunter Field Days taking place this spring in regions across the state. DNR staff and representatives from sporting and conservation groups will use hand-on activities to teach participants about natural resources stewardship, wildlife biology, shooting safety and ethical conduct in the field.
Junior hunters will learn about archery, sporting clays and hunting with dogs, with professionals in a safe, mentored setting. All equipment will be provided, with certified instructors overseeing all shooting activities.
Lunch is free for all participants and their parents/guardians. Registration is required and is limited. For more on other Junior Hunter Field Day events, click here.
