Ben Carson to announce 2016 plans May 4

Carson, a retired neurosurgeon and conservative darling, will announce whether or not he will seek the 2016 Republican presidential nomination from the Detroit Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, officials said Monday. It is a ticketed event, though an official time has not been set.

If he announces that he will in fact run, he will join Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as the GOPers who have so far officially declared.

Carson's presidential exploration committee — formed early March — brought in more than $2.1 million in its first four weeks, according to the campaign manager Barry Bennett.

I would love to see Carson as president , but Obama has ruined any chance for another black president.

He would be a great president but I think it's a long shot. The everyday citizen who supports him would have get out and spread the word as to why he would be a great leader.

I like Dr. Carson, however his biggest problem will be raising funds to compete with the old dogs with a lifetime at the taxpayer trough.
