As I scanned several Websites this morning I couldn't help but notice some of the ridiculous predictions that were out there LOCALLY.
While we should get the word out there to help viewers be prepared, scaring the crap out of people like this is just irresponsible.

I for one am getting a little tired of hearing the "better safe than sorry" line.
The picture you have up is for a storm predicted for Feb 2.
7:07, I understand that. However, are you seriously suggesting that this is an accurate prediction for the Eastern Shore? It's more like sensationalism to me.
I know your Website is new to the area but just like the Mall incident over the weekend, you stated, (in which I refused to publish) that kids were jumping on cars in the parking lot, not true at all. Mind you, I understand you are listening to a scanner and that's what you are HEARING but with all due respect, you need to CONFIRM your information. Hence, why I chose to not put that portion of your information up.
I've got 10 years under my belt doing this and it is just friendly advice.
Joe I have been in salisbury all my 60 years of living. Alot of these folks that predict the weather haven't got a clue.
Weather can change in an instant. That's not the weatherman's fault. LOL
"Predicting" snowstorms (right or wrong) is big money for the media (increased viewership / ad $), and for local retail (grocery, snow removal items, emergency supplies, etc.). If the weather can be hyped, it will be done. Its ALL about the money, and little to do with the weather.
I've seen it go both ways. Flurries forecasted turn into accumulations and several inches forecasted results in a dusting. Too many unpredictable factors involved here. But some need to stop relying on computers so much and start looking out the windows.
what a job, please tell me what other job you can have where you can be wrong the majority of time and still have a job the next day! got to love it! Well I guess politicians would come to mind!
Isn't is ironic that they use these computer models and can't get the weather for tomorrow right, but these same people use similar modeling and can tell us the earth will begin to melt in 50 years due to man made global warming?
People get out of your "bubble". I have lived all over the country coast to coast. Weather reports are all based on models. The report is just that a report from a model. How about we get upset about the crime rates and international affairs. Focus people does it really matter that you spent that extra dollar on milk and eggs.
when I want to know what the weather is going to be.....I look out the window.
Computer models are just calculations-not facts. Old school data analyzing worked and still does if applied.
We rely too much on computer calculations and not the facts.
weather guys all have one thing in common. none of them have ever uttered the words, "I don't know".
When my neighbors dogs stop barking I know its going to rain
Why are snowfall totals predicted anyway? Why can't we just deal with the totals when it's done falling? :-) A lot less stress and worry for everyone. LOL
Dan Satterfield is the worse. What a moron.
this is the eastern shore. we can get snow in april. monday feb.2 will be the big one
lol 12:17
Hell even Worcester and Wicomico county emergency services bulletins are wrong, same with their hurricane information. No one can be trusted.
