Ron Paul says talking to Marco Rubio about Cuba is ‘like talking to a stone wall’

To hear former Texas Republican congressman and longtime conservative rock star, Ron Paul, tell it, Marco Rubio is clueless when it comes to the power of the free market.

“It’s like talking to a stone wall,” said Paul.

Paul is that rare breed of politician who has never been afraid to say exactly what he thinks, and he acknowledges that his shoot-from-the-hip way of addressing issues can get him in trouble, but he has no plans to change his ways.

Laughing as he recalled that day in Miami when he was booed during a Republican debate for uttering the unthinkable, he now says he’s more convinced than ever that he was right about lifting the Cuban embargo. In fact, he maintains, that night it wasn’t his messaging that was wrong, it was the audience. The auditorium was packed with older and more establishment-type Republicans.

“The next day, I met with young people in Miami and guess what? They were with me,” Paul bragged. “So it’s a generational thing.

One cannot blame Rubio for his personal feelings about Cuba. What is blamable, however, is Rubio putting those feelings above what is the best path.

Totally in agreement with Ron Paul on this issue.

Rubio needs to focus on getting re-elected to his seat. He totally blew his good start by putting his foot in it on immigration -last year. We have abundant evidence about how unprepared a first term senator is to be president!!

Sen. Paul makes many good points and is a talented eye doctor. Same issue as Rubio; running a medical practice and running the USA are not the same. Get re-elected and let's see what's down the road.

President is a manager job. GOP has oodles of talented, successful governors to choose from...and unlike senators, they have a track record in managing. Nuf said!

Do personal feelings equate to an axe to grind? Marco is displaying poor Presidential qualities early on & thus doing all of us a favor. He's making our minds up not to vote for him.

"GOP has oodles of talented, successful governors to choose from."

That's what they said about Bush. Look what that got us. Also the same could be said about Jeb and Mitt. I would rather of had Mitt than BO, but I think we need better.
